Baptised 26th November 1893 St Mary’s Church, Radcliffe on Trent

Married in 1923 to Vera May Tomlinson. Three children, twins Vera and Dorothy, born 1925,  died as babies, and one son William known as Harry, born 1930.

Died 25th September 1959. Buried in Radcliffe on Trent cemetery

Brother of Charles, Fred and Jack Pike.

Age 8 living on Albert Street, Radcliffe on Trent with father Henry, a joiner and builder, mother Sophia, brothers Charles 18, John (known as Jack), 12 and Fred 16. Grandfather Sam and grandmother Harriett (maiden name Roberts) lived next door.

1911 Census

Age 18,  a joiner, living on Albert Road (Street) with parents, brother John (Jack) and sister Dorothy.

30.11.16: HMS President II, Crystal Palace to 14.4. 1917. The ship was an on shore establishment for training.

15.4.17: Transferred to RNAS Killingholme (base for seaplanes on Humber estuary), Lincs, acting air mechanic I(c). Transferred to RAF on 1.4.1918, remaining at Killingholme

22.7.18: Transferred from Killingholme to Seaton Carew, Hartlepool, acting air mechanic I. There was an RFC/RAF airstrip at Seaton Carew and seaplanes were kept in Seaton Channel. It was a detachment of No. 36 Home Defence Squadron of the RFC, located at RFC Station Cramlington, Northumberland.

17.1.19: Transferred from Seaton Carew to Clipstone Dispersal Centre, Notts
