1901 Census

Age 33 an asylum attendant living with his wife Alice Emma, a lace divider, and son Thomas Cyril age 3 at 1 Primula Terrace, St Matthias, Nottingham.

1911 Census

Age 43 living with wife Alice Emma and son Thomas Cyril age 13 who is at school. They were living at the Harlequin, Radcliffe on Trent. He was still employed at Notts. County Asylum as an attendant.

Called up August 1918, attached to Royal Army Medical Corps in York and then sent home.

Demobilised 17.8.1919.

Medals Awarded: Ineligible for campaign medals as did not serve overseas.

His son, Thomas Cyril Chambers, was at Radcliffe on Trent school in 1911, age 12 and served with the artillery.

In 1923, his son’s marriage certificate shows Thomas snr was still an Asylum Attendant.

Thomas Snr retired from Notts County Mental Hospital on 30.11.28 after thirty-three years of service in asylums/mental hospital (minutes of Notts County Mental Hospital, 1928).

Home address in probate is Bingham Road, Radcliffe on Trent.
