1881 Census

Age two living with father George, a farm labourer, mother Mary who was born in Radcliffe on Trent, sister Emma, eight, and brothers Amos, six, and George, four, all born in Gamston, Notts. They were living on Shelford Road, Radcliffe on Trent.

Age 22 employed as a navvy and living on Mount Pleasant, Radcliffe on Trent with his parents and two brothers, Amos now a bricklayer’s labourer and George who is a postman.

1911 Census

Age 32, employed as a general labourer and living as a boarder at West End Villas, Radcliffe on Trent with Henry Holmes, a drayman, and his family. The other boarder in the house was Daniel Smith, also on the Radcliffe on Trent Roll of Honour.
