Forces War Records state Service number 306477 and that he was the only son of Mrs Ellen Hyde of Sydney Grove.

Described by Gil Elwin in Radcliffe Remembers as ‘an active, pleasant, clean-shaven man’.
Probate granted to his wife in 1920.
His widow, Adeliza and their two daughters emigrated to Canada in 1924, with financial assistance from the Government. Adeliza’s parents, Henry and Annie, and brothers, William and Henry, were already living in Edmonton, Alberta. Adeliza married Samuel McClelland in 1929 and was living in 1963 in Calgary on the same road as daughter Desley and her husband Neil Cameron, a teacher.
