Pension Record Card
Joseph Barratt was awarded a 40% disablement pension of 11 shillings (55p) from 15.12.18 for 26 weeks, to be reviewed at the end of that period (from his military service record). He was suffering from ‘disease of hysteria after gassing’. His pension record card shows he was then awarded a 20% disablement pension from 15 December 1920 on the grounds of neurasthenia, amount 8/- (40p). It was increased to 12/- (60p) for 30% disablement on 15 December 1922. He received a payment of £22 on 23 October 1923. His address on his record card was c/o Three Crowns, Barrow upon Soar, Leics, later amended to 228 Green Lane Road Leicester. He was described as ‘single’.
