Pension record

Edgar Bellaby was awarded a disablement pension from 29 July 1917 due to gun-shot wounds in the right hand, thigh, foot and left shoulder. He was initially awarded 8 shillings (40p) per week for 20% disablement, changed in 1921 to 12 shillings (60p) for 30% disablement. His pension reverted back to 8 shillings for 20% disablement on 7.12.21. He was awarded £87 in addition to the former pension payments. His address on his pension card was initially 1 Raven Terrace New Basford Nottingham and then changed to 93 Rye Street, New Basford.

Other Information

He was employed at Notts. County Asylum (Saxondale) when war was declared; he is listed in their records as an attendant who served in the Armed Forces. Hospital records also state he was wounded (see above). No further information available about when and where he was wounded.
